A passionate, experienced group who thrive on making things happen, with more years in the events and hospitality industry than we care to mention! We have a small fulltime staff and a large group of fantastic volunteers who assist us in making amazing things happen here at the Opera House.

Frances McElhinney

DIRECTOR

Frances oversees all the Oamaru Opera House, strategic direction, business management and programming for the performance spaces.

Gregg Lovatt

TECHNICAL MANAGER

Gregg is responsible for attending to our Hirer’s needs behind the scenes. It’s his job to ensure that the show gets in, quickly, safely and with the minimum of fuss.   As a good Tech he expects the unexpected and plans for it.

Matthew Wicks

EVENT COORDINATOR

Matthew is your go to person if you are looking for a space for your meetings, conferences and events outside of our entertainment programme.  Opera House.   He liaises with our customers and ensures he has every details to ensure your event runs smoothly.

Gabrielle Roney

SALES & TICKET OFFICE MANAGER

Gabrielle is our ticketing guru, she ensures that shows are on sale and she’s always looking at how she can reach as many people as we can in the district so that they don’t miss out on seeing something amazing!

CAFE & BAR

Carla makes the best coffee in town!  She’s also becoming quite renowned for her cheese scones.  Definitely worth a visit to the Oamaru Opera House Café during the week.
