Grab your bike, grab your clan – let’s go! Cycle the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail from Weston to Oamaru, with fun stops along the way!

Starting at the corner of Westview Drive and Whiterocks Road in Weston, an awesome crew is on hand to guide you on your way. There are art stations for getting your face painted and decorating your helmet, and food and coffee available to fuel up on tasty treats and backpack snacks for your ride.

And you’re off!

First stop: Waitaki Community Gardens where world famous Bug Man Ruud Kleinpaste shares facts about the bug world on the hour from 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Enjoy a break tea while the kids build a bug house.

Second stop: Oamaru Public Gardens where you can join in the Rock Hunting Challenge, or just relax on the grass, grab a bite to eat and listen to live music. As you’re leaving the gardens you will be entertained by performers along the way.

Third stop: Takaro Park (in front of the Aquatic Centre) where you can join Tahu Mackenzie from Orokonui Ecosanctuary making seed bombs to take home or have fun on the Bike Bug Obstacle Course!
